I loved Yale too, but have noticed over years it seeks polarizing on the love/hate for some reason.

The lack of trees on the CMU campus is sort of shocking once you notice it. There’s parkland within easy walking distance, but the campus itself seems to be striving to be tree-free.

Harvey Mudd is just unique in its own way. I don’t think it wants to be pretty .

Caltech looks like a mix of the Claremont colleges. Pomona and Occidental and Caltech all have pretty similar vibes

So many, many moons ago, I really, really wanted to go to CMU and remember liking it. Outside our price range so went elsewhere. I remember, back then, my mom was not fond of the campus at all. Fast forward to a recent trip with my DC, and while I didnt hate it, after seeing a number of other campuses it definitely did not hit me the same way. ha ha. My DC was not a fan.

also don't love Stanford. I'm there pretty often for work conferences and every single time, someone will say, 'and here is where they take that one shot for the brochure'.

it's not bad, but not great

I guess MIT and don’t love Stanford but think that’s more personal preference. Don’t really think any I’d call elite are ugly, all mid to beautiful.

I don't think I've ever heard MIT's campus described as lovely...except maybe the postcard shot of building 10 from the river.

I don't know if it's elite, but it's a very good choice for lots of people. RIT.
