DH and I both cook equally. I like nice cookware and I received a full set of All Clad for my birthday. DH trashed it. He preheats all the pans by turning the heat to high and he generally cooks everything on med-hi to high. I love the guy, but he's the reason we can't have nice things. I have to replace some pans and I'm holding off because I know the inevitable damage they will suffer at his hands. I actually have special cookie baking sheets that he's not allowed to touch.
Is there an online cooking class that anyone could recommend that we could take together for fun? We'd love to take one together at night. We took some in person knife classes a decade ago that we loved. Before kids we liked cooking Blue Apron at night, but it's not enough food now that we have kids.
He enjoys cooking so I'm not sure how he's so bad at it. His cooking is pretty atrocious. He "follows" recipes, but every step along the way is a disaster. For instance, on the night we had tacos: he can't preheat a pan, then he adds the oil and garlic, burns both. Then he doesn't brown the meat, he leaves the lid on the pan and it becomes mushy meat. Then he adds a ton of vegetables with different flavors to the meat mush. It's kind of a running joke with both our families as well as our friends, but dh is so enthusiastic about cooking and loves it, so the kids and I just eat and don't complain.
