I agree with first half. It grills nicely. The red meat cuts are too big for us to try.

+ 1, since it's close to me, Organic Butcher for the win.

I buy meat from Wegmans and have never had issues. I generally don’t buy from Costco because the package size is too large but I once got a pack of lamb loin chops for a party and they were spoiled when I went to cook them the next day despite the date on the package.

I never buy meat from Costco. A few years ago I noticed the meat started tasting off and never got better.

Another vote for Whole Foods meat counter. I actually did an experiment where I bought the same cut of beef at WF, another smaller organic meat counter and regular grocery store. WF was by far the better quality and taste. (No, I have no ties to WF.)

A friend gets her meat at Sam's Club, and that has been very good. But she has several kids with a son in high school sports, so they eat a lot more than we do.

I shop at all of those places and it's simply not true.

I buy all of my meats at Costco. I think the quality is better than most grocery stores. I do not think it's any cheaper though.

It is pretty good and generally better quality than Safeway/Giant, etc., but obviously you have to buy in pretty large quantities. Whole Foods is where I buy my meat (including a decent amount of red meat) usually and I haven’t noticed any quality issues. I shop at the butcher counter for red meat and pork so I can choose the exact pieces I want.

In the past few years it seems to me the quality of meat at Harris Teeter / Giant / Safeway has declined even as prices have greatly increased.

Someone told me Costco has good meat (red meat) - agree?
