Depending on where you live, that could be 30-40 minutes in a car.
I have a friend a 20 minute walk from me and we see each other every 2 months or so. All my other friends live much farther away so 1-2x/year or less.

I have some friends who I see regularly. We are sometimes planning the next excursion while on the current excursion. Meanwhile, other friends can go weeks without contact.

Everyone I’m referring to is an empty nester, yet some have time-consuming jobs or are introverts.


I think each relationship is different. What kind of relationships are you looking for?? How much do you WANT to see these people?

That all sounds normal to me. I think as long as the contact continues, even if the intervals are longer, it's fine.

I don't really think there's a wrong answer here. I have some friends I only see a few times a year but I still really love them and we've been friends for decades. We always pick right back up where we left off.

Small group of close friends around 30 miles away meet up around once per month. We text more frequently in group chat. Texting maybe every other day about something. Everybody is working and have kids.
