Classes will continue when the fires are contained and the smoke abates, as it will. Last I saw, 11% containment. Better than zero. I would expect that to increase rapidly, though these things tend to have their ups and downs.
Any increase in housing cost near UCLA would be indirect, if many fire-affected people were to move to Westwood. That's a bit speculative at this point. No effect on housing cost near USC.
