Aspen isn't part of a ski conglomerate, it is still independent (although the owners also own some other ski areas, including Deer Valley, but they are separate companies). So they have more flexibility to negotiate quickly. Plus they aren't a public company.

Are there rumors of a strike or are you just fearful of your vacation being disrupted?

Aspen ski patrol’s contract is not up for renegotiation until April, so you should be safe.

With the deserved success of ski patrollers in Park City, do you think there may be a strike in Aspen in the near future? They also have huge pay disparity, housing issues, general lack of affordability for locals, etc. We are thinking of going for spring skiing as there was great snow last year.
