We have an 18 year old and her bedroom is right next to ours. We have sex anytime we want to which is usually at night. We're not loud and boisterous but If the bed creaks oh well. Sex is a natural thing and as long as I'm not loudly moaning or making it obvious it's fine.

I never said every time. I was giving examples of how we intentionally carve out time to make it work.

I said we have some form of intimacy every morning before DS gets up, and time carved out Sunday evening. The hotel stuff is in addition too.

DH works from home and I work night shift 3 nights a week so we've got plenty of time during the day.

Weekend mornings are best. Occasional weekday mornings after kids have left for school (needs some pre-planning.) Evenings when both kids are out of the house. Around 11 when everyone is in bed (but usually I’m too tired then.)

Mornings most often. But DH and I will say goodnight to our teens, and go to our bedroom In the evening, lock our door and have sex. We aren’t super loud and the kids are watching tv or video games or whatever and can’t hear us.

Also have 14 and 16 year olds. Weeknight bedtime for them is 10pm (the younger one almost always passes out immediately but the 16 year old is awake for a while after). Both kids use white noise machines and the one closest to our room keeps her door completely closed.

Weekends when they're up later- we just stay up even later than them. I'm tired though.

Have sex?

Seriously… if you have teen kids at home - and your home isn’t huge, and like most teens, your kids aren’t in bed before 11 pm.

It was a lot easier for us when our kids were young and in bed by 9 pm. Now that we have a 14 and a 16 year old night owls , it’s almost impossible. We find ourselves sneaking into the tiny basement guest bedroom but that’s not super practical.

We can’t possibly be the only ones going through this.

Thoughts?
