Curious about that as well. Son applied EA and we got the letter last week. Wondering if that's just trying to soften the blow for a denial. Did any alum parents of students accepted in ED get such a letter? Thanks!

So, are you saying getting a letter might mean it’s a “no.”

Anyone get the letter and child ultimately was accepted?

Nope. I am a double Hoo and my husband is a Hoo. Our kid applied ED. And was accepted. No letter.

Could this mean EA will come out earlier than Feb 15?

In anticipation of EA.

We got it before ED. I wonder if a second wave is being sent out in anticipation of ED.

Informed delivery says we’re getting a letter from UVA admissions today. I’m going to assume this is what it says.

Because we just got it today. I didn't know about this before dd applied this year. I take it you mean it's normal.

Can you share the changes that were highlighted? (We had a kid apply last year and are alums and I don't recall getting a letter!)

There's one "thanks for applying" letter, and then a second page explaining the Affirmative Action ruling and the Legacy Admissions ruling (front page) Back is more general QnA.

We have gotten it in two previous years when our older two applied. I see a letter from uva in today’s informed delivery so I am guessing the same letter is here for our third.

Yes! Both DH and I thought it was weird because DD withdrew application about a month ago because she got in somewhere else ED.

Did you get a letter thanking you for your child applying and highlighting changes in admission procedures?
