Do you have a friend or a neighbor you could ask? I did it for a friend recently, her DH had to be out of town unexpectedly.

Do you have a neighbor if colleague or friend? They aren’t going to liable if you don’t get a colonoscopy. Or, try the hired route like pp suggested. Try your local listserv and maybe you offer a fee to a college student. Call the doctor and see if Ubers count - usually not because they want to see your escort. Might also try a driver, like an airport driver.

Insurance covers medical transport

You probably need to order a medical transport. A suburban doctor's office once called me to come get my sister who tried to leave w/o having a ride. It was me or a medical transport company.

Call the office. When I got mine they did have services to provide rides home. No idea of the cost.

Ask them.

I can only sympathize, OP. I wound up having to ask my ex-husband to come get me. We are on fairly amicable terms (we have a 15 year old in common, so sometimes socialize due to him), but this wasn't an interaction with him that I particularly wanted. But the place said there was no other option than having a person pick you up, no uber or cab.

Sorry, just so as not to be misleading - it is possible that they would have let my son pick me up in an uber or cab, but he had school. I don't know either way on that one.

Look into non-emergency medical transport. Might be around $200 or so, depending on distance.

I turn 50 soon so I need to get this done. Will they really refuse me if I take an uber? It’s that or not getting one. I’d think their liability would be higher if I have cancer and they missed it over me not having a ride
