Possibly, but just remember. If DMV had 9 ECNL clubs and 1 MLS Next club. Then it changes to 9 MLS Next clubs and 1 ECNL club. Guess what? Its the same talent pool. This has been going on forever and really hasn't improved anything.

Adherence to MLS Standards will be crucial for clubs participating in these elevated competitions.

The deep player pools within MLS Next clubs will likely increase playing time for young players, providing them with valuable exposure and developmental opportunities

Exactly. NAL has no name recognition, so putting MLS WHATEVER on their second teams will bring more money in.

Seems this is being called a separate "tier" than the current MLS Next configuration

Not seems, it is clearly stated as an expansion tier

"According to MLS, boys and girls competing in the new tier will also be eligible to play high school soccer.

The expanded tier will be managed by operators across the youth landscape who will follow mandated program guidelines and technical standards set by MLS NEXT to ensure a high-quality product.

These operators include the National Academy League, Elite Academy League, Sporting Development League, Cobalt Sports and Cal North Soccer Association"
