4-6 is an option at the venue we are looking at but I wasn't sure if anyone would be willing to go to two parties on the same day. We would, but that's just us.

It is extremely rude for you to put mutual friends in a position that they have to choose.
I would pick the first invite that was sent out and judge you horribly.
Your DS would likely be disappointed in his headcount.

Anonymous wrote:My middle son always seems to have conflicting birthday parties when we schedule his party. Sometimes we send out the invite first, sometimes other kids do (his birthday is actually in January but we typically have his party in March because the last few years he's selected outdoor parties and we hope for better weather).
Turnout is always decent - in part because he always invites friends outside his grade/school too. For kids within his grade that have double birthday parties it's been a mix: some kids go only to my kid's, some kids go only to the other kid's, and some do both (i.e., they might leave early from my kid's to go to the other kid's party).
