I didn't know that all cars didn't have this.

My VW from 25 years ago does.

Shopped them. They generally handle well. Didn't like on the CX-5 that my right knee was right on the middle console. CX-50 is nice vehicle but body cladding is a bit too much.

I have a CX-5 and love it. She had 130k on it and hasn’t needed major work yet. She is a 2014. Just a workhorse who is fun to drive (we camp/ski/road trip).

I want my next car to be a PHEV CX-5, it Mazda is listening.

I bought a used Mazda6 as a second car. It used to compete with the Accord and the Camry, which was too much of a marketing reach for a smaller car maker.

The Mazda6 sedan is much more luxurious than the Accord or Camry and handles really well. It is a pleasure to drive. I researched years extensively and bought one of the Consumer Reports recommended years.

I have a 22 CX-5 and am underwhelmed. The headlights are adaptive environmental headlights and move with the steering column. Great except they broke after a few weeks of owning it and took 2 months to get the part and fix it. Then the other side broke. I got it repaired in 2 weeks. If I had to pay for it out of warranty it would be a budget buster as they had to remove my dashboard and steering column. The power is meh and it is kind of noisy. It is kind of small and I hate the mouse knob next to the cup holder. So many on my forum spill coffee on it and fry the whole system. I do like the colors but the paint is thin. I like the sound system and it does have pick up and go but kind of loud. Also, when it got cold this year, I had lifter or rod knock until it warmed up a while. All of these things are common on my forum. I had no choice really as I needed a car in a day and at the time there were waiting lists for cars worth buying. I went in and just grabbed it. I would have liked to have gotten a different car.

We bought a certified CX-9 a few years ago as our family car and loved it so much we got a new CX-30 as the backup/commuter car. I like this car too but think it could be a tight fit for more than 1 child for carseats and baby equipment. My tween DD is a little over 5 feet and feels comfortable in the backseat, but it would be a tight fit for my husband and son who are both tall. We test drove the CX-5 and I surprisingly found it had a heavier feel to drive/not as smooth compared to the 9 and 30. But I know others love their CX-5.

I have driven Toyota/Lexus sedans my entire life; currently drive a Lexus IS250 and love it.

May be in the market for a new car and am looking for a 'kid' car (thinking about having kids in a year or two) that is also fun, small, and easy to drive. The Lexus RX is so expensive, and I've driven Mazda CX models several times as rentals and enjoyed them, so I'm considering a Mazda.

Any thoughts? Key differences between the CX-3, CX-5, CX-30, etc.?

TIA!
