Not for a middle school kid at 7 in the morning when it’s solid ice.

It's Loudoun.

Not PP, but you knew what they were talking about, right?

I would have taken London and figured it out.

I just walked more than a mile to the grocery. Many sidewalks were not shoveled, but it was certainly doable.

I think at least a 2 hour delay is inevitable.

I'm an APS admin- the principals don't know anything yet. They are just preparing you.

They're just delaying because of the no cell phone policy they are pushing...

APS- the roads that looks sketchy yesterday look clear today. I say 2 hr delay to allow for buses to warm/re-iced sidewalks at schools to be shoveled.

PS- if you really want your kids school open, help neighbors shovel.

The reason MCPS was closed today was because yesterday's wind blew back plowed snow onto school properties; and because in general, plows hadn't made satisfactory progress in the county.

We are expecting most school districts in the DC area to open on Thursday, since the wind has died down and plows continue their work. They might announce a delayed opening, though, so that high schoolers don't drive on black ice before dawn.

The email from our APS middle school principal today strongly implied there would be school tomorrow, providing traffic instructions in view of snow banks and rules about students sledding and snow balls.

Following the logic of school being closed today, I don’t see why they would open tomorrow? This compacted ice isn’t melting anytime soon. I walked over to my elementary school and there is zero street parking…. School parking lot and bus lanes looked passable but some piles of snow taking up spots.

Just mentally preparing for another day off. And then why go back on Friday for just one day?
