My 2010 Camry isn't like that, and opens wider.

Interesting, is it an LE? Thanks for replying! It doesn’t feel broken, but since it behaves differently, it throws me off when I’m opening my door.

I mean, that is my long-term plan but a lot easier to post and see if anyone else has a Corolla and something nicer and ask them their experience

I’ve had cheap cars before, I just don’t remember them being quite like this. This is my first one made in Japan though.

Go out to the dealer lot (or carmax), find your exact model and see if door acts the same.

I don’t know quite how to describe this, but for our other cars we’ve had like a Honda CRV and accord, the doors of the car, swing slower and have a little bit of friction almost like a soft close drawer

We just bought a base, Corolla, and the door swing differently? I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s like they are lubricated too much and swing too freely, so a strongest of wind will swing the door wide.

It’s very smooth, but just too fast And too easy to hit other cars on hill or gusty day

Is this because we got the base model? Or is there possibly something wrong?
