Agree with the poster about ease. After picking hotels, they arranged everything over email. Even domestic transport. Lamanai Outpost Lodge is great for 2-3 nights. Then any resort near San Ignacio. ATM is a must.

Ian Anderson’s Caves Branch. It’s been posted about here before. All the excursions booked through them, excellent tour guides. Ruins, caving, horseback riding, zoo, zip lining, hikes. I THINK they may have had a snorkeling option that we decided against because it was a very long way away (and we were with kids).

I honestly found Belize to be one of the easiest trips I have ever planned. First pick an ecolodge and then pick a beach. The ecolodge will give you a list of excursions and you pick the ones you want to do (we also went to Tikal for a day, which I highly recommend). The ecolodges will likely provide transportation from the airport and to the ferry for the beach.

We went to Table Rock for our ecolodge (highly recommend!) and Caye Caulker for the beach. A lot of people pick San Pedro for beach and I am sure it is great too (it is more developed with more upscale lodging if that is your think). Caye Caulker has more of a backpacker vibe and is tiny.

When k looked at Belize I was looking at NAIA resort (I think based on feedback from this site). I will say that we went to Xunantinich once as a cruise excursion and I thought it was amazing — some of the best ruins I’ve seen.

Please help this newbie out. Likely time for trip is April, adults only. Interested in snorkeling, jungle hikes, ruins. Anyone feel like sharing their itinerary and lodging? Highlights or things to avoid?
