Subject: Where should we book a Spring Break trip? Looking for ideas
I think places like Breckenridge still have snow into April.
With only 4-5 days, I would focus on someplace with a short flight and hotel not too far from the airport. Puerto Rico would be great -- you can hike, kayak, snorkel, jetski, etc. Lots of people on this site have stayed at the Wyndham Rio there, but there are tons of hotels.
Jamaica the Rose Hall area is very close to the airport. (We stayed at a hotel across the island from the airport and lost over an hour each way which was a bummer for a short trip -- the traffic there moves very slowly.)
Another idea is the Florida Keyes -- we did that for spring break a few years ago and stayed at Baker's Caye in Key Largo, which we really liked. There is great snorkeling nearby, and we also ended up going to the national park at Key Biscayne and snorkeling there as well. That's an easy one for a short trip, and since the airfare will be cheap, you can get a nice hotel and splurge on activities.

Iceland? Short flight. Interesting active tours like glacier hikes.
Azores?

That’s a ton of travel in 1 year, no wonder you’re overwhelmed.
You can fly direct to Grand Cayman and stay at a resort with a Ton of water sports for the teens. Go to stingray city.

Do a search. The topic has been discussed ad nauseum in recent weeks (and every other year too.)

A couple of years ago we went to Mammoth in California mid-April for skiing - it was awesome! They usually have snow/stay open really late in the season. We flew into Las Vegas and drove through Death Valley to get there - also very cool and dramatic. Fun to go from heat to snow. Stay a night in Death Valley on the way - I recommend Stovepipe Wells. On the way back, stay the night in Las Vegas near the old town/strip - fun to walk down and get a bite. We stayed at the Golden Nugget because I was intrigued by the Shark tank pool. Perfectly adequate and reasonably priced hotel and didn't feel too cheesy/trashy.

I need inspiration!
Timing is 5-6 nights in mid April (MCPS break and we want to be home for Easter). We’re a family of 4 with two teenage boys and we do better with active trips.
We just went skiing in Colorado. Probably headed to Hawaii this summer and Italy next winter break. Budget is $10k-ish but we also have a ton of credit card points we could use.
We held off on planning spring break because of possible scheduling conflicts so I’m just now getting around to it. I’m searching all over and nothing is striking me. Looks like it’s too late for skiing….? Not sure where we’d want to go in the Caribbean (I’ve been to Jamaica and Aruba, but that’s it).
We haven’t travelled a ton until recent years, so I guess I’m feeling overwhelmed. Any great places you’d recommend for that time of year?
