Richmond. Plenty to do regardless of weather.

Two empty nesters looking to get out of the dmv for MLK weekend. Want nothing to do with politics, within driving distance, and maybe something to do other than get naked in a hotel room out of town. Must be within a couple of hours drive (Philly? NY? Lancaster? Williamsburg?). Any creative/off the beaten path suggestions?
