I recently stayed at the Mayflower Hotel with my husband and two kids, and we had an adjoining room with my parents. Location was great, no complaints!

I like the Marriott Metro Center or Grand Hyatt for families who want to spend time at the major sites. Easy walk to the Mall and right on the Metro. Keep in mind that March is Cherry Blossom/high convention season so rooms will be expensive at that time of year.

Marriott.com, there are about 40 hotels of different brands in downtown dc and about 80-90 in the DMV area.

I like JW Marriott, the courtyard or residence inn foggy bottom, residence inn near DuPont, renaissance dc, the ac Marriott and of course both DC ritz Carltons.

I always like the Omni shoreham, it’s near a metro stop and the zoo. Easier to drive too, if coming from the north.

We have family coming to DC to sightsee in March and they want to stay in the city. It's been ages since I stayed in a DC hotel. Any recommendations of something family-friendly (two adults, two kids), easy access the tourist sites and safe?
