All the time. I love my husband and kids and DH definitely pulls his weight. But I want the simplicity of not making constant decisions particularly around food. I eat healthier when I’m eating alone - when I cook for everyone else I have to suit everyone else’s tastes. My kid has adhd and a lot of guidance is needed for every day tasks - it would be quicker for me to just do it myself but I’m trying to turn her into a capable and responsible human. I’m tired of all the decision making and making everything come together in a functional way.

Definitely fantasize about living alone, but also about what things will be like when we have an empty nest. Things will stay clean for so much longer! We won’t have to cook the way we do now. More free time.

I had roommates, suite mates, or housemates in college. After college, I lived at home 4 years for grad school and then moved in with the man who would become my first husband. After our divorce, I lived with my two bio kids. I remarried and we adopted our son. We are now empty nesters, but DH mostly works from home.

It’s likely that I missed my chance. We bough a 2 bedroom condo so I don’t even get a she shed in the back yard.

DH is slightly older and a colon cancer survivor, but he still might outlive me.

I used to when I live in smaller house or apartment.

We, a family of 3 now live in a 6000sqf home for the last 4 years. None of us no longer fantasize about living alone. We have plenty of space to be completely alone if we want to.

I think back on my little apartment and how easy it was keep it neat and clean.

Don’t get my wrong…I love my family more than anything. But I just often feel so frustrated that I am responsible for all these people all the time.

I am the default parent. I do everything. I dont know exactly how it got this way but overtime it has and it just feels overwhelming.

All the meals-I fantasize about having simple meals that I don’t have to prepare or think about just for myself. I think about not having to clean up after anyone but myself.

I’m sure i’d be lonely at some point but honestly I fantasize about this a lot. I’m just so tired.
