Pretty much, always. But it's worse right now and I can't seem to break the cycle. I binge a lot. I have been trying to lose weight for about five years. Prior to that, I was high 120s/low 130s which is where I looks and feel the best. I cannot stand myself. I feel like a quick fix through meds is what I need, and once I am at my goal weight, I think I'll feel motivated to stay there and not return to my disgusting eating habits. There is a spa in my area which offers semaglutides and I'm thinking of signing up for a consultation with them. I figure I can't be alone in wanting to lose a few pounds and would really love to hear experiences from others who've done this.

You are at your most motivated now, it would seem, as you are considering serious medication. Consider finding out what calories you need to maintian your goal weight and eating at that level for six months. You will not be a new person after the meds nor do you need to be. You are capable as you are. Either way, good luck and tell us how it goes at 6 months and a year, for those of us in the same place as you.

These drugs are intended for people who are obese or morbidly obese. They change your physical and mental chemistry and really are not intended to be used for small amounts of weight loss. Obviously, it’s your decision, but please make sure you understand what you are signing up to use before using them.

I'm 5'6" and 155-160 lbs (big size 10, up from a small size 8 when I was 145 lbs). Perimenopause has hit my metabolism like a freight train and I can't get that 10-15 pounds off of my middle no matter what combination of dietary changes and exercise I try. It takes incredibly unsustainable amounts of restriction and over-exercise to move the scale at all.

I just started HRT and I feel so much better in so many ways, but I worry that the weight is going to start creeping even further up due to the hormones. I don't want to start anything new until the HRT is stabilize and I know what side effects, if any, I need to account for with them. But after that, I would consider semaglutides to both help get back to where I feel better, and to keep the scale creep from happening. It's (mostly) not vanity, I just don't want to be obese as an older adult and have it impact my health and mobility.

I’ll be honest it seeems crazy to become drug dependent to lose ten lbs.

If you actually hate yourself that’s an issue for therapy, not drugs.

Did you always have food noise? Can you get back to what your thoughts were in general before food noise?

I am in a similar situation. Before going this route I am telling myself the following: The food noise comes back when you stop the drug. If i cannot eat at maintentance for the goal weight, I will have to be on the drug forever to maintain the goal weight. If I can eat at maintenance for the goal weight, doing so now without the drug will allow me to reach and maintain goal weight, even if more slowly.

Are you committing to being on the drugs long-term? If not, what is your plan for after the drug? Can you implement that plan now? It is worth figuring this as you get other answers to your question and decide how to move forward.

It will just come back on when you stop taking them op. That is how it works. Just try to accept where you are and move forward. Your life will be much better. Do you really want to take weight loss medication for the rest of your life for 10 lbs when you are at healthy weight? because that is the only option and that really is nuts I know you know that. Society makes it so hard on us. I get it. I know. It is hard. It sucks living in this world that makes us feel shitty even when you're at a normal weight (which you are!!!!) but try to work on being body neutral. Neutral. not positive - just neutral. Think about it less - your body is your body is your body. That's it. Think about it less, and it will get easier.

You're not overweight. No reputable doctor is going to give you drugs for vanity weight loss.
