So don't. *shrugs*

This could be social anxiety. I am the same way

With remote work, everyone in my house has learned to tune out phone conversations. We've also learned where to be in a room that's off-camera. For example, if I'm trying to get a family member's attention while they're on a Zoom mtg.

I wonder if it’s because when I take personal calls at work I go to a private location and mentally I could be carrying that over?

This just started happening a few years ago and it’s getting worse.

I have no idea but I wish more people would refrain from talking loudly on their phones in public spaces. It is so annoying in the supermarket/ stores/ restaurants etc.

Because you're a civilized and well-mattered person. Talking on the phone in front of other people is incredibly rude

I move to a more private location too, but it’s because my DH actively listens to my conversations and comments afterward. It’s obnoxious.

I think that's normal and healthy. I'm like that too, and I also leave the room when family members make phone calls... in part because they should have their privacy and in part because I don't want to listen to their boring ass conversation.

I don't hide but move to a more private location. Isn't it normal? Why would you make others sit through your private conversation they have no interest in?

I feel the same way. I don't answer if there are other people around. I value privacy.
