OP here, this is what I read on another site. Definitely not wanting to go OOS for that, so thank you for confirming.

It’s also right on the border of Newark. If you don’t grasp what that means, you should look into it.

They are completely different institutions. Seton Hall draws a lot of kids from the surrounding area -- which is Newark, NJ.

In addition to the Catholic schools already mentioned, I'd encourage you to check out St. Joe's and Scranton. Very nice colleges that are generous with merit aid.

Good to know, definitely keeping it in mind. I’ve been around a lot of the greater Philly area, just haven’t visited the Villanova campus.

Visited Villanova.

Of Catholic schools, my DS got accepted by all Catholic schools he applied to so far:
- Marquette
- Dayton
- Seton Hall
- Catholic
- Xavier

All of these schools offered anywhere from $25k - $37k in merit aid.

Many of them were applied to as safety schools because they waived application fees.

He is still awaiting to hear from Villanova (which is a reach)

I agree w/ those responses above that Villanova is not in the same league as Seton Hall. Not saying Seton Hall is not a good school, but it is just not in the same category as Villanova.
