I think it should be fine on that day. The issue is with getting to DCA if you are in DC. I believe all the normal routes will be closed, I could be wrong. I know Metro will be running but that will be a cluster, I think, but maybe not. Metro bypasses all the mall stations, so it might be easy.

I would leave a day or two before. Security in DC will be insane.

If your flight passes near the Mall, flip him off for me.

Worst advice ever. People will be coming in the day before not 3pm on Inauguration Day.

OP this is a non issue. It will be fine that day. Just avoid driving through DC and you’ll be fine.

I hate Trump and I don’t understand the question. DCA will be fine.

There could be extra police on the way and in the airport, but there will also be less traffic from ordinary people. So maybe plan extra wiggle room, but odds are you won't need it.

OP here. Now I'm concerned about any chaos that might ensue once Trump is granted powers. Maybe I travel the day before. This might seem hyperbolic but with Trump, anything goes.

What could/would President Musk do to domestic travel by 3pm on Jan 20?

Be realistic.

This. Don’t act psychotic, OP. Seriously, it will be a day of mourning for all, but let’s use our logical minds and be realistic.

I don’t think there will be disruptions but my normal route to DCA is 395 and I would make alternate plans for sure, probably to go around the beltway instead. Treat it like the marine corps marathon.

I'm booked to fly that evening and haven't given it a second thought. If there are concerns about disruptions and airline offers to let me go a day early, I will.

Need to fly on Jan 20 and looking at a 3pm flight from Regan. Any thoughts on traveling that day? It’s both Inauguration and MLK. I probably could push a day before or after but this is a much better time and day for my trip. (Flying to help move sibling w/ Alzheimer’s to facility).
