OP. I looked into Costa Rica for spring break years ago. Did you do both the jungle and beach sides? We didn’t go because the flight schedules weren’t great and the logistics seemed challenging getting between the two.

We only did beach side for the reason you mentioned above — too big of a group to make two stops. It is possible, if that’s of interest. We had plenty to do for a week in Tamarindo. Did a fishing charter, a sunset cruise, some did surfing school.

Also - you rent golf carts / houses come with them so you can easily get in and out of town. There’s also the usual things like zipline etc. if you found 30a to have enough to do, I think the group would be pleased with CR.

Marriot Grande Ocean Hilton Head is right on the beach and has two bedroom suites. Check redweek and you can often get deals. They had bikes to ride around island and we also went kayaking in a nature preserve there but they also have the usual stuff like movie theaters etc.

Summer is hurricane season which makes it tougher for Caribbean.

Aruba is nice (although mostly beach activities). I sound loke a marriot shill but we stayed at marriot surf club there — it also has two bedroom suites but Aruba has lots of options.

I think Costa Rica is also a good option. We stayed near Manuel Antonio park and there is kayaking in a mangrove forest and jungle tours nearby.

Tulum! Stay at Ahau Tulum and book a Beach Level Master Suite for you and your husband, then put the kids up in the Bali Huts or Junior Suites.

I'm trying to figure out a place to go that will please everyone in the family and I need suggestions. We are a family of 5 with kids 15, 20 and 21. We have taken the boyfriends of the older 2 for the past 2 years and would like to take them again this year, so essentially a party of 7. With college and HS schedules, we aren't able to travel as a family any time other than the summer. We've gone to a handful of places several times but I'd like to branch out and try somewhere new. Ideally, I'd like to find somewhere in the Carribean, Mexico or Florida

Needs to be:
Not Europe-we're limited to July/August and I'm not dealing with the crowds and heat that time of year
A beach somewhere but has activities other than just sitting on the beach. Half of the group wants to sit on the beach the other half gets bored after a few hours
Has villas or condos. We need a 4BR place for everyone's sanity.
Not all inclusive
Nearby (or at least not an hour away) restaurants/activities

We've been to:
Watercolor Fl-my absolute favorite family resort and will go back there if we can't find anywhere else
Kauai
Playa del Carmen
Cancun
Casa de Campo-DR
Cabo
Boca Grande, FL

Budget isn't a huge consideration but ideally I'd like to keep it to under $1,500/night. Does not include airfare.

Any ideas?
