As of 17:00 Puerto Rico time only 13% of customers have their power restored. That’s hardly “many on the island”.


I was basing this off of a relative who is one of the lucky ones to get power right away. But yes you are correct most of the island is still without, except if you are staying in a hotel like the Ritz Carlton. They have power!

We were there in January of 2020 when the island had a major earthquake and the island lost power. At the hotel you’d never know anything had happened.

It was very strange to be drinking fruity drinks by the ocean after this happened. But the numerous employees we talked to said they were grateful to come into work — they got paid, used the showers there and took home food and clean water for their families.

For the prices they charge they better have a generator! I would call and ask OP. It is fabulous though. We were there several years ago.

I see that a lot of people on here recommend the ritz dorado. Was thinking about going next Christmas, but just saw that 90% of the island is without power. Does anyone know if the ritz is affected?
