Yes, have confidence your DD and just do it. 8th grade is very low stakes. If there is a subject where you DD struggles, you'll be able to step back to general education for High School. The exception is Algebra, Geometry, obviously, but those are not included in AAP. We moved from out of state when our son entered 8th at Cooper. We were intimidated by the Cooper/ Langley reputation, but he blended in seamlessly... All A's in 8th and 9th at Langley. You won't know if you don't try.

Hi - I applied my current 7th grader for AAP for third and she was admitted however many years ago and then we moved before she ever started.

Curious for those with current 7th graders at Cooper AAP - I know this is the weirdest question on earth given the size of the class - but is the current 7th grade AAP class a good class? My daughter has been at a STEM private where we moved (public schools aren’t strong where we are) so academically I think she’d fit in. I worry that starting in 8th may be incredibly difficult (and we even contemplated me staying behind another year w our kids but decided against). Recognizing middle school is hard for girls everywhere, could you share your perspective with me?
