We’re in a similar boat - I hit 39 weeks on a Saturday, but with two other small kids, childcare is a factor.

We scheduled a Monday induction (39+2). I really don’t think a couple days makes a huge difference.

I'd hate to have it pushed until the following Monday and risk still birth- has anyone ever been scheduled slightly before 39 weeks?

I had multiple scheduled deliveries and was never allowed before 39 weeks. This most recent time I was trying to do 38+6 for logical reasons and was told no.

However, I was just at VHC over a weekend post delivery. I was seen by the head of most departments on weekend days and had lactation consultants come on both a Saturday and Sunday so at least at VHC the concern about doctors was not reflected in my experience.

+1 on weekend LC availability at VHC. We were fully supported. My husband was even able to take a class. We felt well cared for by all staff. Went in early Fri and babe born midday Saturday.

You can try calling daily to see if they're having a lull in spontaneous births. If it is a slow day they may be happy to accommodate you.

They won’t let you schedule before 39 weeks unless there is a medical reason. I’d get it scheduled asap though because spots fill up. I wouldn’t worry about weekend staffing. L&D wards run 24/7 365.

Can you get a NST every day? I would absolutely request that.

Thank you for the incredibly kind reply. I was able to talk them into scheduling me only a day after my original induction and I’m getting an NST the morning before.

Thanks for the virtual hugs ❤️

I just had my previously scheduled induction postponed 5 days. I’m 42 years old and 39+1 and felt super strongly about delivering around 39 weeks due to possible stillbirth. Has anyone haps any luck with getting their induction date moved sooner? I’m freaking out. I’m
