Saw it with my 5th grade boy. I thought that some parts were scary and afterwards, he told me it was scary at that part. The movie really focuses on being scared of water which I don’t think it great for kids.

We took my nearly 4 year old who loved it. She thought the original lion king was scarier. To be honest though, I think she didn’t realize what was fully happening in the ‘scary’ parts.

Are there scary parts? What age do you think is appropriate? Thanks!
Saw it today and thought many parts were terrifying. I would say 6th grade and higher
My husband took my 8 and 5 year old the other day. Nobody mentioned anything about it being scary.

My 9yo is extremely sensitive but went to see it with DH, and neither of them mentioned any really scary parts.

Disney can sometimes be scary and sad to small kids. Dumbo made me cry my eyes out as a kid. Just talk to your kids.

Uh, what?

If you kids are ok with the original lion king, they will be ok with this one.

I went with a group of 2nd graders (boys) and they liked it. No one thought it was too scary.
