We've stayed at both of the Hyatts in Jersey City when we have been to games or shows at MetLife. 15-20 min drive to/from the stadium. We always leave a bit early to beat the crowd leaving the stadium.

I came up from DC to see a soccer match at MetLife in June. I stayed at a Holiday Inn on the south side of Newark Airport. It was $175 per night, which was great for a single person.

I took NJ Transit to and from the game, which was incredibly convenient. Except for going back to the hotel from the game because it took 45 min for my specific train line to arrive. Secaucus Junction serves all NJT lines so it takes a lot longer to get home than you think. Also, my hotel was not necessarily pedestrian convenient to NJT despite what Google Maps said, but I did make it work. It is nuts how the pedestrian access from the N. Elizabeth and Elizabeth NJT stations near EWR is so bad. Six lane roads everywhere.

Stay in Secaucus. They always have shuttles to the MetLife. Or anywhere in Jersey that is on New Jersey transit that connects to Secaucus (most all trains). Hotels in Secaucus are cheapest though and always have parking lots (not everywhere in north Jersey has).

Parking at the stadium was fine just costly. I wanted my car so it worked out.

We drove up the day of the concert and stayed overnight, after the concert. We stayed st Hilton Meadowlands. It’s an older Hilton property, but room was clean and comfortable enough, price was right, and hotel was convenient to the stadium. We ate at the Dream mall before the concert.

You could combine this easily with a NYC visit. We didn’t do this because we’ve been to NYC plenty of times.

Thanks PP! How was the parking situation at the stadium?

When we did it, we stayed in Seacaucus at the Hyatt Place and drove to concert but there is a bus right outside hotel or train about 2 miles away.

Traveling for a concert at Met Life Stadium this summer, what’s the best way to do this? Stay at a nearby hotel in NJ and drive, or maybe stay in NYC? Take the train up from DC or drive there?
