I like the small claims court suggestion!

We bought tickets for a show on Christmas Day. The seller never sent them. We got a refund but I had to wait until the day of the show for Stubhub to do anything. So we couldn’t even make other plans. This is actually the second time I’ve bought tickets on stubhub that didn’t come through. And I used to have very good luck with them. No more.

+1. Stubhub probably couldn't process everything fast enough and the seller got cold feet. But they are the business and they should assume the risk. I'd send them a demand letter and then file in small claims court if they won't cut a deal.

Congress needs to step in - the resale prices and policies are absurd. Other countries don’t allow this.

Based on the stub hub agreement you got exactly what you agreed to which was a refund.

Huh? Our fault for not being in our seats for 20 minutes, doing nothing but twiddling our thumbs? You do this for every performance or movie? I somehow doubt it.

We paid for these tickets. Frankly, we should be able to arrive whenever when we wanted to.

The show is sold out. Stubhub has refunded the money but is refusing any other compensation (the cost of parking, gas, time, etc) after we dragged 4 people out on a cold day. They are staying that a 10 minute warning (emailing at 1:20 for a 1:30pm show) is reasonable.

Your fault for not being through the gate 10 minutes early. You should have played dumb and tried to enter

Getting Valid Tickets


If the tickets you ordered are not honored by the venue, we may, in our sole discretion, attempt to locate replacement tickets for you or provide you with a full refund of your purchase (including any fees and shipping/handling charges). We may require information from you or the venue to confirm that the tickets were invalid for entry. You are encouraged to call our Customer Service from the venue if you experience problems with your tickets. You must notify us and complete any required forms no later than seven days (or such other time as communicated by us to you) after the event.

Essentially, they give you your money back and that's it even though the sold you an invalid ticket and common sense is that you will have to spend time and money getting to the venue

PS - there is probably something in the Stub Hub agreement meaning you agreed not to sue them.

She them anyway. Make them tell it to the Judge, in person.

(Hint: they will settle. Not worth their time).

This. Even if there is an arbitration clause, it will cost them money to respond to exercise it
