I am willing to try almost anything once, and I drove DC to Miami one year and won’t do it again. That said - my kids were much younger and we only stayed for one week.
On the way down, I think we stopped one night on 95 near Savannah area and then stayed 2 nights in WDW before heading down to Miami. This was over winter break - and on the way home - there was so much traffic on the Sat night before everyone had to return to work on Monday, that my husband just drove straight through, not wanting to see what Sunday traffic would be like.

Key lime pie was the lowlight of my Florida trip. I kept ordering it everywhere we went thinking I was going to get some great key lime pie somewhere in key west or Miami. No. Nope. Non existent. I hope I save someone some money and dreams. I got a better pie at pacci’s.

Get key lime shakes! This is in the Everglades, which is also a fantastic place to visit from Miami

Make a pit stop in Daytona and drive on the beach. The teens would probably enjoy that.

We are taking some time and driving to Miami from D.C. We have about 10 days to drive down (flying back) and no major plans.
We would like to spend a day or two in a couple of locations. Right now we are planning on Savannah and going to Forsythe Park, but no other scheduled stops.
What have you done and would recommend? It will be 12/26 - 1/6 and our boys are teenagers.
