Outschool has virtual classes taught by instructors that are pretty cheap. My daughter has done some online drawing classes she really likes

Look at the “Get Into Art” books. They combine a little art history with a nice lesson you can create at home.

My daughter (4y10m) attends an after school art class that picks her up from school. They expose her to different types of projects than we do at home. She's also there with friends from school. For me it's worth it for the chance to work on a broad range of projects and the opportunity for her to discover her interests. At 5, I'm not looking for artistry. I want her to use art to express herself.

Sure you can. But then you have to buy all the supplies, create different activities, etc.

DD5 loves drawing. What are the main differences that I sign her at art studio for classes vs she draws at home with supplies? She is not talented, but she loves it. Those art classes costs around $25 a class, and it seems like I can easily copy abd do something like that at home for under $10 with paper, canvas, materials. Worth it to take classes now or save the money when she is age 8?
