We bribe. Kid can choose either a special treat or to watch a show if they finish the dose. Worked like a charm at that age.

Hiding medicine in Concord grape juice works for my family. Best of luck.

Of I can’t get DC to settle down enough to take it orally, I don’t think there’s any chance I could administer a rectal suppository. I ordered some chewable tablets though.

Ice cream. It's the only thing that worked with DD. At 3 they're too old to trick but you can still bribe with ice cream. I poured it on top like syrup.
Also, maybe try a different flavor. Same DD will take Genexa acetaminophen straight.

You don’t want to bring down a fever unless you absolutely have to (fever is helping fight the infection). But, if it’s too high or the child is too uncomfortable to calm down (like screaming nonstop) then do the smallest dose you can. Also, obviously check with nurse line or pediatrician.

A cool bath helps a lot. Can also do an ice pack on pulse points briefly.

Tell them it is liquid candy. It literally is a sugary taste. Or run out and get him the chewable kind. 104 is when I bring them in to the doctors. Just make sure he is comfortable and push a lot of liquids and rest. If he is runny or stuffy, clear the nasal passages out.

For a just fever I would not bother with the Tylenol. For something like an antibiotic where you can’t miss a dose, I mix with chocolate syrup.

Our doctor says to call if it’s over 103.5, anything under than that can be a few days before it’s a doctor visit.

Mix with chocolate syrup
Cover with sprinkles
Mix in with something you know they will eat all of like an applesauce cup
Use the syringe and inject into the straw of a bottle they like, filled with something they want to drink. Do in small portions so it doesn’t overflow the straw.
Our 3 year old preferred the chewsbles if that’s an option given the time

3-year-old has a fever and is refusing to take Tylenol. Any tips for how to administer with an uncooperative child who feels so crummy? We use a syringe still and that typically works but not right now.
