I really liked it, but if you don't, put it down and move on! That's the joy of reading for fun.

Ugh, same experience with this book. I loved her other books but this one was just a slog. I finished it but it really doesn’t get much better, OP. No big tragedy if you abandon it.

Don't force a finish as it take the joy out of reading. Donate it.

It's ok to just not finish. Honestly I do it all the time with books that other people love.

I do finish all my book club books, even when I hate them. I find if I can discuss it with other people, I don't mind finishing a book I might otherwise have tossed aside. But if I am reading just for me? Nope, I DNF.

Oh I would abandon that for sure. Do you have a little free library nearby?

I'm almost halfway through and I can't stand it. It feels like having a conversation with my elderly parents where they keep telling me random stories about people I've never met and don't care about. There are so many characters introduced and except for a handful, none of them seem to have anything to do with the others. Does the book get any better? I'm so close to abandoning it. I've enjoyed her other books, especially Olive Kitteredge, who's in this book, so I'm giving it more time than I would normally when I feel like this.
