Look at a local Michael's -- LorAnn makes one and Michael's carries a lot of LorAnn products in the baking section. It's called Ammonium Carbonate on the label.

Not DC, but you might call and see if Asadur's in Rockville has it. They have a ton of Greek foods and I know it's used in Greek baking.

May I ask what you are baking with it (assuming that’s why you want it). I’ve never heard of it before. Wikipedia says it is used to make thin, dry baked goods?

You may be able to find this at some Middle Eastern grocery stores. I'd call Mediterranean Bakery on S. Picket in Alexandria and see if they keep it in stock.

Anyone know where I can get baker's ammonia in DC? It won't come quickly enough online. I'm not interested in substitutions.
