My suggestion as well. The whisk will be better than a fork, but if a fork is all you've got, then use that instead.

I microwave the ice cream for 5 seconds before stab/stir with a fork. Helps soften it up.

I used to make milkshakes in a big glass for myself all the time. Scoop ice cream into the cup, add milk and chocolate syrup. Then stab/stir with a fork until it's the right consistency. I also was a big fan of the Creamsicle variation - Ice cream, milk, and orange juice concentrate to taste.

A fork will do in a pinch. Let the ice cream soften up a bit first.

I have a hankering for an egg nog milkshake. I don't own any sort of blenders or food processors. Is there some other way to make one?
