This, exactly. 37 years with my husband, and we've built a wonderful life together. We have some money now, but there were years we had nothing. I'm still deeply in love with him, and now we get to spend our retirement together. Nothing better.

I don’t think I had this distinction. If I were to marry again, I would find a man who had my same physical touch love language. My husband likes sex, which I thought was the same thing, but he never wants to be touched or cuddle outside of that.

I wouldn't marry at all.

I married for love but he also happened to be from a well off family, it was a bonus to have some perks like use of the family beach house and boat and staff to do all the chores. We are divorced now and l don’t miss the perks - love is way more important.

My sister married for love. They both started with nothing and have built a great life together. The wealthy guy our parents hoped she would marry is even richer now and divorcing his second wife after getting a neighbor’s young daughter pregnant.

I married for love the first time, and we ended up divorced. This time i married "for money"* and I'm still married. Most of our problems are solved with money

* he's not super rich but we hold the same values around finances: we make equal salaries, high HHI, believe in home ownership, investing, saving for college etc.

I would do the same thing I did - marry for love, a person raised in an upper middle class upbringing with a good education background. For myself and most of my friends it has meant love and pretty good money too.

If you had to do it all over again and assuming you had both options, would you marry for money or for love?

In this case the marriage for love the guy will be able to provide a middle class lifestyle vs the guy you marry for money would have a guaranteed UMC / on verge of wealthy lifestyle
