Playing time was about half. It was a fabulous experience for my DD. Loved all the SWAG and perks of being on a D1 team.

We feel fortunate that the team, the coaches, level of play have all been a good match for our player. It was hard getting to this point - and time management balancing a sport and college is vital - but we are incredibly grateful that it is working out. For us - it wasn't about chasing scholarship dollars - but finding a way for our player to continue doing what they love. Going into it - we were realistic about our expectations (academics first), we provided our player support where needed, but the work was theirs - from reaching out to coached to updating their recruiting videos to maintaining their grades and persuing a college degree.

Sounds like it was an okay first year experience.

So far - notwithstanding all the posts about my setting your kid up to play in college - your kid actually did it and is going to get ready for next year.

With ncaa soccer now finished for the year - how did things go for your kid?

Everyone wants playing time but are they okay with the playing time they got? Did they make some friends at least among the freshmen? Were the coaches reasonably accessible and okay to communicate with? Are they ready to start prep for next season (after a break)?
