Lexia is still used within the classroom. It was strictly prohibited at home during 3rd grade orientation. My DC is in level 15 or 16 but, from what I understand from talking to a teacher, it’s not much of an indicator of high performance. It’s designed to be a complement to the topics covered during class for that grade—kids can easily move to higher levels without deep understanding if they work on it outside the classroom long enough. It was useful immediately after the pandemic. I wouldn’t be surprised if they replace it with something better in a year or two.

My third grader is halfway through 14. Last year was his first year in FCPS and they only allowed him to work on second grade material. He finished the end of the material (level 12 I believe) by March and that was it. He said he did ST Math or read a book independently during the designated Lexia time after that point. I found it all sort of strange.

Same, except level 19 (& pretty much holding); second grader is catching up to DD.

My AAP 3rd grader does minimal work on Lexia - almost no time is spent on it and we don't get any information about levels or anything (maybe I could go looking for it, but I haven't bothered). There's a lot more written work instead.

Just wondering how mine is doing compared to children in AAP?
