The eureka books are confusing. I told my kid she doesn't have to do that homework. They do math I give them instead.

what do her MAP-P scores look like?

I would not panic yet and jump to IEPs. I suggest Khan academy too or google whatever she is having trouble with and try to find some online games to help.

Also, if the homework is taking too long you should talk to her teacher about reducing it.

There used to be a homework hotline in mcps. Another option is Saturday school. many talk about the website Khan academy, not sure how that works.

Khan Academy and math games.

My kids played lots of math games, yes online, when they were little.

Both took calc in HS, and the college aged kid is a math/CS major now in college. They said Khan Academy was actually pretty good. Don't do Kumon. They tutored there, and said it wasn't that great.

? just because the child doesn't understand some math concepts doesn't mean that the child has a SN.

What do you mean when do you start math? It is a standard class required from K-12th grade.

OP, I would suggest signing up for a free Zearn account, which is linked to Eureka math and has videos that explain the concepts and additional practice. There is also Khan Academy, another free resource aligned to common core. I’m sorry your child is struggling and that the school is not helping.

Schedule a meeting with the teacher to discuss. You can also reach out to the grade level lead and/or Counselor.

Have you used the Eureka math parent Tip sheets?
Are there previous concepts that she is not understanding or mastered?

I'd just spend some time on stratagies, but work more on traditional math and teach the math facts. Much more useful in the long run. I liked the Kumon books.
