I have 2 boys, zero girls. I am a boy mom. It's a thing and it is great, imo.

“BOY MOM,” you are annoying and think your son does literally no wrong.

“He’s all boy,” I will punch you in the tit.

What is wrong with you?

No, seriously. What is your diagnosis?

Because this sort of anger and hostility is abnormal. Threatening physical violence over use of a phrase? That’s psychotic.

I don’t get the term in the sense of why does everything needs to be branded with a catch phrase these days? It’s not enough to be a mom and to say “I have two boys.” Everything had to be a hashtagable phrase that can be printed on moms beach trucker hat or her wine-o-clock glasses.

I guess I don’t understand how being a boy mom is different from being a mom????

Fellow boy mom here. I hear you! But my energetic little rascals told me that basing my personality on my kids’ gender is beyond pathetic. Little males can be so direct!

It is a reaction to a pretty anti-boy zeitgeist in a lot of corners. Lots of threads on this already and there is tons of anti-boy bias even in various DCUM posts.

There are many more irritating words.

Look, I don't love the whole "boy mom" or "girl dad" thing. However, a few years ago I became friendly with a woman in my neighborhood who uses the term "boy mom" because she has three boys. It was definitely off-putting when I heard her say it, but then I got over it. Good for her that she embraces being a mom to her kids. I don't know why she needs that label but it seems to make her happy. She's a really good person and I like her.

You have to just let this stuff go.
