Some have a separate admitted student day, some give you earlier access to housing so you are more likely to get the dorm you want and in some schools selection of courses is based on enrollment time stamp

I think the biggest perk of ED is being done with the process in mid-December. While my DD was rejected from her ED school, she ultimately did very well in RD . . . but it required a lot of time and energy. If she had been accepted to her ED school, I think she would have enjoyed her senior year a lot more and avoided a lot of stress.

DD is now at an equivalent school that is probably a better fit for her. I do wonder whether there might have been a nagging concern that she chose the wrong school had she been accepted in ED. I think the biggest benefit to RD is that in most cases it permits the student to make a more informed decision. But I also think there are many great schools and I am pretty sure that DD would have thrived in her ED school.

Douctful for a T40, don’t know the back end of that list well, but yes some schools offer benefits. Highly ranked school don’t need to sweeten the pot.

Sometimes get first dibs on housing, but that is school dependent.

I've never heard of any perks for students who are admitted early.

Are there perks at the college if you get in early? I am not asking about admission rates or odds. Are there any benefits to getting in a school earlier in the process? Access to housing/classes? Admitted student days? Not asking about huge state schools, I get that housing there is first come first serve but at all other T40 schools is this part of the equation in deciding if ED is worth giving up the opportunity to weigh choices in April?
