What level ES/MS/HS? What exactly are you trying to find out?

Public schools don’t generally give tours. Schools with application programs host open houses in the fall. If you just want to see the inside of the building, just show up and ask the front office if you can look in the hall.

Since when? Every MCPS school we wanted to tour allowed us to tour. We were looking to buy houses and wanted to see the schools. There were other families in our group who had younger kids in the neighborhood or who were also looking to buy or rent. They did shut down tours for a while due to covid but the schools we know about started up about a year or two ago.

Yeah, we never toured but we know lots of people who have toured local area elementary schools in the last year or two. It’s not uncommon.

If your school is a Title 1 school, you can email the Parent Community Liaison and ask if you can do a tour. We did that and the person was quick to put us in contact with the principal. My son is special Ed though, but I don’t think it matters in this case as he was in general education.

You do if you're moving to the DCC or NEC.

Does your child attend the school?

Will your child attend next year?

Are you considering moving into the school zone?

Is this an application school you're considering applying to?

Does anyone know how I should request a visit to the school? This is my first time trying to do it and I've been trying to do via a phone call, but nothing worked.
