8th grader at Eastern - I would say on average an hour per night (but often less), but depends on how much focus my kid has. My kid is only so-so in the motivation department and it's been very manageable.

It ramps up, my 6 grader has very little while my 8th grader has about an hour a day and often is still churning after his hour much to the detriment of his activities which normally start at 6pm

Block scheduling isn’t necessarily going away. The principal as useless as she is has been very clear about that.

My child is in 6th grade magnet at TPMS and has little to no homework. But no homework does not mean no learning or rigor. Magnet classes are challenging and interesting and DC is very engaged. Teachers give them time for homework during class and something called “tap time.” Occasional homework has been in French and computer science.

What is the average amount of homework/night at the following magnets?

Takoma Park MS
Eastern MS
Loiderman MS
Argyle MS

Thanks!
