There are inclusive family friendly events run by both the school and the PTA. So far the teachers all seem extremely competent and our child is making great progress. The neighborhood is diverse which we appreciate and the kids all seem very nice and well behaved. No major behavior issues that we are aware of or reported by our child. We use Bar-t for before care and they’re awesome too.

Thank you for the information. Is there anything else I should know? How is the office staff? How are the teachers? Specialist? Car pole? How long have you been at the school? Thanks

I’m the OP who said we love it there at MCTES. The front office staff is very friendly especially the admin secretary. She knows my child by name and even knows his sweet personality traits. We have only been there one year so that says a lot. Specialists are all very good. My child adores the music teacher especially. Car pool line gets a little long and crazy but it moves quickly. I think you’d be happy there

Thank you for the information. What time is a good time to get to the school for car pool? Thank you

Also had a friend's kid that was bullied there. My friend's child was treated terribly by the admin even though the kid that bullied had bullied many others. Luckily the bully ended up moving but my friend had thought about switching schools.

It's the center for enriched studies. They have it at Mill Creek. You can still get in the CES program while attending another school but then you would have to switch schools (it's for 4th and 5th graders).

My child has had some really good teachers and small class sizes and likes the kids. There have been some kids with discipline issues but not outside the norm of MCPS. Staff has fluctuated a little bit but a few staff members have been there long term. The school counselors are great and so are the secretaries.

Rosemont has fluctuated between being Title 1 due to boundary changes. It is currently Title 1 now. The school pulls from many apartments. We have found friends but I feel like Mill Creek may have more of a neighborhood feel (if you want a comparison). This is not a school with a lot of parent support or active PTA, though the PTA is slowly building up. There is not a ton of after school options in terms of clubs nor events. I wasn't a huge fan of the after care but some families do like it.

The principal is terrible. Very absent and not good with dealing with behavioral issues. She will talk over you. IF she attends events, she rarely talks to anyone. She had almost no communication during covid even when the school was closed for a month (after the kids had gone back). Most of the notices home are now sent by someone other than her. Also, the school can be punitive and take away minutes of recess, which they aren't supposed to do.

Anyways, all that to say, my child is super happy there which is why we have stayed even though we could have moved elsewhere.

Wow. This is very good. Thank you so much for this review on Rosemont.
