Depends. What is your financial situation? Can you pay cash for the new car? If not, repair this one and keep driving it until you can pay cash.

FWIW I have a 2018 Honda pilot ex l and I love it. 60k miles and other than the recall on the fuel pump, o major issues.

I’m going to keep that thing another 10 years if I can.

If you feel like that particular one is a lemon, you’ll have no trouble selling it, but I’m surprised to hear it’s unreliable because generally Hondas are reliable.

I’ve heard good things about the Mazda cx9, and of course the Highlander, if you want a replacement in the same category.

Can you get the strange electrical issue fixed under the extended warranty? And any other current issues? Does the electrical issue render it unsafe to drive, or just annoying? I would probably try to get it fixed under the extended warranty and keep it, but I tend to keep cars for a long time and keep fixing them.

This is a well-documented issue with this year of the model car as it was the first year out for the new model. Since then, we haven’t had significant issues —but there seems to be some strange electrical issue going on, on occasion. Honda provided an extended warranty that will be ending soon. Our question is this—do we sell it and invest in a more reliable vehicle or hold onto it as long as we can? It is all paid off.

How many miles on it now?
