The dress at Latitudes tends to be very smart resort casual. Leave your sport coat or long dress home, this is Key West after all.
If you’re considering Latitudes, which I highly encourage, make a reservation ASAP. It is the hardest place in KW to book. Make your reservation now (and check out susnset times so that you get the right time), you can always cancel it if you decide otherwise.
Finally, although still not dressy, the most exclusive place in the Keys is probably Little Palm Island which is a 45 minute car ride from KW. Little Palm is accessed by the resorts beautiful restored tender from Little Torch Key. They serve brunch (weekends only, I believe), lunch and dinner. Worth the trip if your budget allows. Reservations are a requirement in order to be allowed on the tender.

I personally had a wonderful time at A&B Lobster! Latitudes wasn't available when we were there, so can't directly compare. I loved the food at A&B, they were so welcoming and made our evening special.

I also enjoyed a ghost tour of downtown, Hemingway's house, and a tour of Truman's house.

Highly recommend dinner at Lattitudes. Beautiful setting, got dressed up. Very peaceful vs the rest of key west!
We also liked the Hemingway house

This will be my first time there. Are the haunted tours worth it? What about pub crawls? We like to have fun, drink, meet new people, etc. But we also aren't looking for anything too young/rowdy.

Also, I've been made aware this isn't really a beach destination. But, is there anywhere to go layout by the ocean? Thank you!

All the beaches in Key West are manmade, because the sea currents do not bring sand ashore in that part of the world. So while there are beaches there, keep in mind that you'll be lounging on trucked-in sand.

I think Louie's backyard is way better than your other "fine diining" options. the location is gorgeous, the food is delicious, and the service is impeccable.

A day out on a boat is always a blast - go to the sandbar or go fishing or explore. Hire a captain and go with him or her - don't try to drive yourself.

Hemingway House is awesome. The Lighthouse is a quick and fun stop. Sunset at Mallory Square is a must. Stop for drinks and music at Hank's or Willie T's, stop into Schooner Wharf for a dive bar on the water, drink with the locals at the Green Parrort...you're going to have a blast. Rent bikes! You have to rent bikes and cruise around town. It's the very best way to see everything.

Other great food recommendations: tapas at Santiago's Bodega, lunch or dinner at Moondog, casual seafood lunch at Eaton Street, quirky and delicious food at Little Pearl, incredible subs at Little White House...the list is endless.

We like Fort Zach and Smathers for beaches, some people like Higgs. Sunsets are insane from Fort Zach. You're going to have so much fun!

Agree.

And we like the Key West Butterfly Conservatory on Duval, as well. It’s not just butterflies - flamingos and other birds and wildlife are there, too.

Agree.

If you like nice dining, I’d make a reservation asap for dinner at Latitudes on Sunset Key. It’s a small island just off of Key West and has good food in an incredible setting.

Thank you for your input about Eden House! I'm glad to hear good things.

Is Latitudes a lot nicer than A&B Lobster house? We are wanting to get pretty dressed up. But the menu at Latitudes wasn't as appealing to us.

I haven’t eaten at A&B but I’ve been by it and it looks nice. Key West is not a “dressy” town, quite the opposite. With that said, I’d say Latitudes is resort casual dress code and the classiest environment in KW. You have to ferry over to the island (a 10-15 minute ride) and the only way you are allowed on the tender is by having a dinner reservation at Latitudes within something like 30 minutes of your ride. The atmosphere is beautiful.
If you are there for multiple nights maybe do both?

We did a boat trip to the Dry Tortugas and enjoyed that. If you want to do that, book the boat tickets ASAP. It's a real bucket list national park.
