You can't control his consumption but that doesn't mean you can't discourage it.

Do you normally have beer in the house? In our house we typically do not so it would involve us going out to buy it for DS. I guess we would if he asked but that never happened. If we had beer around, I would be ok with him drinking it.

I would be okay with this and use it as a time to show moderation and that you don’t have to be wasted to have fun.

Yes, but we're either non-drinkers or we drink a half glass twice a year. So if my older teens wanted to do that, sure. As it happens, they're not interested.

Yes. Drinking beer while chilling during a vacation is fine. Your husband does not get to decide what your adult son drinks, the same as nobody is forcing him to drink (decide what he drinks).

We only drink a countable number of drinks per year, 1 or 2 in front of our kids.

Parental example is very tied to outcomes.

Alcohol is a highly optional part of life and is not needed to have fun. Many beverages are equally refreshing.
