That's because MCPS is incapable of correctly applying math to real world situations. MCPS fails the district assessment.

I wish it was more than 10%! My kid got almost a perfect score but so far has only two small all tasks that he did poorly on. So each of the all tasks is worth 40% at the moment.

The BIO and Government assessment that are worth 20% of the 2nd semester grade in HS are not district assessments. They are state end of course exams.

10% of each quarter's grade. My DS already took the one for the 2nd quarter so it is clearly not some type of end of quarter assessment. He said that it was no big deal for both quarters, so I am glad it is not a way to fail children.

My high schooler has been saying 10% all week and he is usually pretty reliable.

I teach middle school, so I am not 100% sure it is the same, but our District Assessment counts for 10% of the grade. There is a separate category in Synergy for it. The county sends out a curve for our middle school scores. Not sure that happens in high school.

Does anyone know how this is factored into the grade? I know that district assessments for things like Bio are 20% of the second semester grade, but I haven't seen anything about the fall district assessment for pre-calc. Is this just factored in like any other All Tasks, or is it given more weight? Thank you!
