This is my favorite. Beautifully written and I liked it as a child and still do as an adult.

The Bible. Not kidding. We're not particularly religious, but I think it's culturally important to read the story each year. We also read creation stories and texts from other religions at various times of the year. There are nice Advent calendars that go through the story leading up to Jesus' birth.

For pop culture, my first thought was the night before Christmas.

I don't know about "All" ages

Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs is a lovely illustrated kids book.

A Christmas Carol is a good short story for most ages and great when performed on stage / read aloud

It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favorite Christmas movies and that said, also the reinterpretation with Nicolas Cage, The Family Man

If you could pick one what would it be?

The Golden Book version of Twas the Night Before Christmas would be mine.
